A stainless steel chase cover is used on the very top of your chimney to protect it from the elements. This can be installed on a wooden chase or over a masonry chimney.
The advantage of stainless steel over galvanized is obvious. After a few years the galvanized steel will begin to rust and cause staining on the side of the chimney and possibly on the home or on the roof also. With time the chase cover will rust all the way through allowing water to leak into the chimney.
Many times a concrete crown is installed on top of a brick or block chimney. These work great, until the weather gets a hold of it. The rain, snow and ice can wreak havoc on concrete. But it has little effect on stainless steel. Instead of pouring hundreds of dollars into a very labor intensive cost of redoing the concrete crown, install a chase cover over it.
This will protect it for the life of the chimney. All of our stainless steel chase covers include a lifetime warranty. Even if you sell the house, the warranty is transferable. I personally guarantee that your chase cover will last forever.
